Hello, I'm about to buy a Tieline codec for broadcasting from outside using IP or regular telephone lines.
What would be the most recommended, the Bridge-it or Commander G3?.
Are these codecs compatible with each other?, that is, Can I take a Bridge-It on studios and Commander G3 transmission unit from outside?
If in addition I would like to use Report-It from my Iphone which codec should I choose?, Bridge-It or Commander G3?
I see the Commander G3 is much more expensive than the Bridge-It, why is that?

Thanks and sorry for my bad english :-)

Hi Lu2,

Thanks for your enquiry.
We would recommend both products but first we need to understand how  they are to be used in order to determine which product is best for you and your situation.  Below is some additional information to your questions:
1) Commander G3 and BridgeIT are compatible with each other over IP
2) You can use BridgeIT at studio and Commander G3 at transmission
3) Tieline’s iPhone application Report-IT with work with either BridgeIT or Commander G3
4) Commander G3 is more expensive because it is a more flexible product. For example with Commander G3 in addition to IP you can connect using optional POTS, ISDN, X.21, GSM, 3G modules. BridgeIT is IP only.

I would suggest you send an email to info@tieline.com to get assistance from one of our friendly sales team.

Regards,

Tieline Support

Thanks for your reply.

We already bought 3 pairs of Bridge-it units and now we're testing them.
We are having delay problems, 40ms minimun, which is too much for a real time broadcastig.
We are using a 3mb download/400k upload connection  (we tried several), algorithm: Music Mono 32 kHz - 28.8 Kbps (we tried all), jitter: Auto - Least Delay (we tested also fixed values).

We would appreciate if you can help us to obtain a slightly lower delay.

Thank you very much again.
