I often attempt to connect my imix g3 to our radio station via a Dell Inspiron 1721 running Windows XP (replaced Vista).  The imix is connected via an ethernet cable to the laptop, and the laptop is connected via IP using a Verizon aircard.

It used to connect fairly reliably but lately I have been having very little luck making connection.  Usually, the problem is the laptop and imix appear to not be recognizing each other.  Sometimes I will be able to dial the IP addess in the IP1 entry box, and after many attempts and up to 30 minutes, it will connect and everything is fine.  Othertimes it will read "unavailable" no matter what i do and never achieve a connection.  And every once in a while, it will connect immediately.  Usually, these days, I cannot connect at all.

The problem appears to be that the imix and Dell are not seeing each other.

I go through the wizard to set up a home or small office network between the devices, but no luck at all.  I even disabled the firewall - with no luck - and do not want to operate without the firewall.

For various reasons, this type of connection is best for us if we can make it work consistently.

Does anyone have any advice?  Should I download drivers to the laptop?  I never have.  Thanks for any help you can provide.

Welcome to Tieline's Forum

Many users have enjoyed much success connecting Tieline Codecs to their laptop Ethernet port (via a crossover cable) and enabling Internet Connection Sharing

I will forward an instruction sheet to your email address to assist you setting this up
