Report-It Users may be interested to know that they do not need to use the lower quality internal microphone on the iPhone 4 when using Report-IT for remote broadcasts, interviews, etc.

It is better to use a great Dynamic XLR Cardiod Microphone such as the Sennheiser MD 46 connected to the iPhone 4. http://www.sennheiserusa.com/media/productDownloads/productSheets/MD46_ProductSheet.pdf

The iPhone 4 is connected to this XLR Microphone via a $26.50 KV Connection special Y Adapter / 15 Foot XLR Cable. I had them develop this product for me in a 15 Foot Length and other sizes are now available on special order 5 Foot, 10 Foot, 15 Foot, 20 Foot, 25 Foot. This adapter / cable has special impedance matching circuitry needed to go from XLR on the Microphone to 3.5mm on the iPhone 4. http://www.kvconnection.com/product-p/009-541.htm

I would like to here from others how they are interfacing external microphones with the iPhone 4. How is the cable / adapter I described above different from the upcoming XLR docking station that Tieline has talked about?  Is Tieline going to use the 30 Pin iPhone 4 connector?  As of now that won't work for anaudio input interface!
