Hello,

I actually used a Virtual Studio Manager (form LSB) for controlling mayah C11 codec.

The VSM system used SNMP (MIB SNMP in GET and SET) for have full control (conection, dailling, configuration, ....).

I would make a test with a codec (G3 series), the SNMP communication exist on this model ?

The new models like Merlin or Genie integrated SNMP get and set protocol for remote control ?

I Hope you can answer me

Valentin

Hi Valentin,

The G3 series of codecs do not have support for SNMP and there are no plans at this stage to add SNMP support.

The Merlin and Genie series of codecs will have SNMP GET support and limited SET support - these features will be available in the next release of firmware.

The SET commands can be used to configure things like “location”, and “contact”, etc, but will not support remote control, e.g. to allow dials, configuration, etc.

The reason for this is that the Merlin and Genie codecs (as well as Bridge-Its) offer a feature-rich HTTP interface that allows full control over the codecs, and we strongly believe that this interface is better suited to the job of remote control than SNMP.  Please feel free to contact us if you would like details of the HTTP interface.

Kind regards,
Geoff

Thank Geoff for this answer.

I know Tieline since the Patriot and i have few Bridge-It so i know you have a good web interface but my radio work actually with few codec (tieline, mayah, ....)

We have install a unique plateforme for controlled all codec.

Have you a web demo server just for test the interface of the new codec ?

Hi there,

I am in the same position.

Unfortunatly you can provide a MIB file.

Do you have another protocol please as serial or TCP IP or UDP protocol?

Youssef

Dear,

There is a way to have the http command to control and monitor the codec.

We have an automation system where we aren't able to open you webpage to control the codec.

Thanks to have a quick feedback

Youssef

Hi,

We get the Mib files but unfortunately we are nat able to get all the parameters available.

When we compile the Mib through MG-SOFT  http://www.mg-soft.com

The compiler said this error :

Do you have any plans on integrating SNMP functionality into the Bridge-IT line?

Thank you.

Hi Darryl,

Actually we do. There will be a new firmware release in a few months which will add SNMP functionality into both Bridge-IT and Bridge-IT XTRA. This will be a free firmware upgrade.

Best regards,

Glenn
