Is there any way to test the Commander unit to Tieline?

If you can dial in to our test codec line, from your station, using the Commander and then the iMix, I will be interested to see if there is any difference in the results. It could help to identify one or the other as the cause of the problem.

I will try the iMix to the test codec from the station. I didn't think about that. Is there any way to test the Commander unit to Tieline?

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll let you know what I come up with.

tstuart,

I will pass on your comments to the software release engineer. He is currently on leave but can look at putting some release notes up when he returns.

Thanks for your comments.

Kling,
Just to clarify your situation, when you say that you tested with our test codecs, was that from your station Commander or the remote iMix? Also, have tried connecting to our test codec, from your station, with the iMix, using the line normally used by your Commander?

The other thing that that may be relevant is the age of your station Commander. If it has an old POTS module, you may find our new module could improve things for you. Contact our office in Indianapolis, they will be able to advise you on how to identify the module that you have.

We use an iMix G3 for basketball play by play. We connect to the Commander unit using POTS lines. We generally connect at 14.4 and get as low as 12.0. This doesn't change no matter where we are on the road or at home. The phone lines are always random except the line used at the station. I've tested with the TieLine test line and it connected at 28.8 easy.

We also had the phone lines at the station tested by AT&T and they came back clean as a whistle.

I'm wondering if there is a configuration that can be made on the Commander or the iMix that will help us get a better connection.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Any chance a change log will be put up soon for the new firmware? I will never do a firmware update unless I know what the changes are. This change log should be put up at the same time as the firmware changes.
It would be nice to see the differences between .94 and .98 so I can decide if it's worth taking the time right away to update, or just put it off...

Hi Azimmer,
Welcome to our Forum.

The iMix has a programable switching matrix that you can edit to enable any input to go to any output, except for routes that would cause a feedback loop. If you use the Toolbox software, it will enable you to edit the switching matrix to achieve the configuration that you need. You can download the Toolbox from the following site.

http://www.tieline.com/Support/Latest-Firmware/Current-G3-Firmware-Versions

Make sure to check your current iMix firmware version and download the Toolbox that is associated with that version.

If you go to our FAQs in the Forum section and do a search on "Toolbox", you will get some help on how to install and use the Toolbox.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Cheers

John

I can’t figure this out.... or maybe this system doesn’t do this.

We have the i-Mix G3 mixer.  When we are on remote, we would like to have the announcers broadcasting through a PA system, without a delay.  Is there a way they can do it without having the operator back in the studio talking over the PA?  Or hear the announcer talking to the studio?

Hi Taylor,
Welcome to the Forum.
The large knob is held on by a grub screw and you will need an Allen wrench or key to remove it. Don't use any force to remove the knob as this could damage the rotary encoder device that is attached to it.
Please let me know how you go.

Hi There,

One of our hockey play-by-play guys spilled some coffee onto our Tieline i-Mix G3 unit.  I have taken the unit apart in an attempt to clean it up, but I need to separate the top of the console.  I've removed the screws, and all of the knobs with the exception of the large black selector knob.

The black knob seems difficult to remove and I don't want to use too much force and break something.  Is it removeable?  Should it just pull off like the other knobs?  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Taylor
